Arne Slot has responded to claims by PSG players that Bayern Munich and Arsenal are better than the Reds.
Liverpool welcome PSG to Anfield this Tuesday, having secured a narrow 1-0 lead in the first leg, doing so with their first shot on target.
Meanwhile, the French giants were the better of both teams in Paris, seeing more of the ball and registering over 25 shots on the Liverpool goal.
After the game, PSG players were reportedly said to be surprised by the margin of their domination against Liverpool, whose poor level also surprised them.
According to the report, “PSG players feel Arsenal and Bayern Munich, who they faced in the league phase, are stronger and more complete as a team than Slot’s side.”
Reacting to the said comments during his pre-match press conference, Slot refused to get drawn into a war of words but rather admitted that PSG is the most complete team he has faced this season.
“Some of them have said Arsenal and Bayern were better, from what I have heard,” Slot said.
“PSG improved a lot in these two or three months, and they played away. I saw both of those games, PSG have improved a lot.
“They press all over the pitch now, so they have changed. And yea, it’s up to them how they felt. I cannot influence what they felt. Don’t even know if it is true or not. I am hoping they have a different opinion tomorrow.
“This is the most complete team we’ve faced so far. Of course, we have played Arsenal, Real, and Man City, but the quality PSG have is probably the richest club. they have so much quality with a great coach, he lets them play in a way that is not easy to play against, work-rate is incredible. That is why we have to be at our best tomorrow.”
