Man Utd are set for another squad overhaul in the summer transfer window.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe admits Manchester United must learn from their past mistakes in which they have 'overpaid' for players but says they have one 'fantastic player' who is integral to their plans going forward.
In his latest media interviews, the United co-owner has spoken openly about the financial issues the club are faced with ahead of arguably their most important summer in their history. Ruben Amorim needs to be backed to mould the playing squad in his vision, though they are lumbered with many players who they find it difficult to shift at the end of the season to raise those funds.

Ratcliffe dismissively described Casemiro, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, Antony and Jadon Sancho as "inherited" signings and added that some of them are "overpaid". United hope to sell Casemiro, Antony and Sancho this summer, while there are some reservations about both Onana and Hojlund's long-term suitability to the project. If he is looking for positives though, club captain Bruno Fernandes is one of their greatest ever signings and continues to be of huge importance since Amorim took charge last November.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe names 'fantastic footballer' Manchester United 'definitely need'
"If you look at the players we are buying this summer, that we didn't buy, we're buying Antony, we're buying Casemiro, we're buying Onana, we're buying Hojlund, we're buying Sancho," Ratcliffe told the BBC. "These are all things from the past, whether we like it or not, we've inherited those things and have to sort that out.
"For Sancho, who now plays for Chelsea and we pay half his wages, we're paying £17m to buy him in the summer. Some are not good enough and some probably are overpaid. But for us to mould the squad that we are fully responsible for, and accountable for, will take time.
"We've got this period of transformation where we move from the past to the future. There are some great players in the squad as we know, the captain is a fabulous footballer. We definitely need Bruno (Fernandes), he's a fantastic footballer."
