‘Hates The NFL’: Elon Musk Under Fire For ‘Ruining’ Free Agency Amid Massive Layoffs

Elon Musk is having a rough month. The Senior Advisor to the President of the United States has seen his Telsla stock tank since its peak after the 2024 election.

While he’s busy trying to shrink the size of the US government by laying off millions of workers, his company X completely took a dump on the worst possible day for NFL reporters.

Monday was the beginning of the legal tampering period for the NFL. Team general managers are allowed to work on deals with agents before the start of free agency at the beginning of the league new year on Wednesday.

A bad day for X to go down

Elon Musk arrives at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland at the 2025 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) event on February 20, 2025.

Reporters like Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network and Adam Schefter of ESPN report on X what GMs and agents are telling them about agreed-upon deals during the legal tampering period.

Unfortunately for Rapoport and Schefter, X has been down several times on Monday, making it hard for NFL news to be passed on the app. The issue is causing frustration for people who work around the league.

NFL fans were mad at Elon Musk

Fans and workers around the league took shots at Musk for his app failing on a crucial day for the NFL.

“Elon’s app as soon as NFL free agency hit,” posted a dan with a video of a dog shaking.
