Why the Chargers Brought Back JK Scott & Bradley Bozeman

The Chargers on Monday announced they are bringing back punter JK Scott and center Bradley Bozeman.

Both players agreed on a contract extension with the Bolts ahead of the 2025 New League Year.

Here's what the moves mean for the Bolts.

JK Scott

Scott has been a weapon for the Chargers over the past three seasons as his hangtime has allowed the Bolts to be one of the league's top punt coverage units under Ryan Ficken.

Pro Football Focus tracked his average hangtime at 4.65 seconds, good for second in the league.

Scott averaged 41.9 net yards per punt in 2024 and had 28 punts downed inside the 20-yard line, good for 10th in the NFL. He also finished the season with the fourth-highest PFF punt grade (84.0).

Scott also holds tremendous value as a holder alongside long snapper Josh Harris and kicker Cameron Dicker.

Dicker has made 89 of 95 field goals since arriving in Los Angeles midway through the 2022 season, which is the top mark in the league.

You can bet Scott's clutch ability has played a role in that, even if it goes oftentimes goes unmentioned.

Overall, keeping the trio of Dicker, Scott and Harris together is a win for the Chargers and Ficken.
