The Patriots continued to revamp their defensive line by reaching an agreement with Khyiris Tonga, per his agents at Aura Sports Group.
The 6-foot-4, 338-pound free agent defensive tackle, who had been with the Arizona Cardinals, agreed to terms on a 1-year, $2.7 million deal.
Earlier in the day, the Patriots traded DT Davon Godchaux to the New Orleans Saints for a 7th-round pick.
They also made a huge splash by agreeing to a deal with top defensive tackle Milton Williams (4 years, $104 million, $63 million guaranteed).
Tonga has spent time with the Chicago Bears (2021), Minnesota Vikings (2022-23) and Arizona (2024).
Last season, he played in 13 games, starting one. He registered 22 tackles.
Along with Williams and Tonga, the Patriots have also added linebackers Harold Landry and Robert Spillane, and cornerback Carlton Davis III to Mike Vrabel’s defense.
