Browns Have Bold Goal Following Myles Garrett Extension

The Cleveland Browns were facing a depressing situation early on during the offseason. Myles Garrett had very publicly requested a trade and made many different media rounds making it clear that he didn't want to play for the franchise anymore.

Most fans had lost hope on Garrett returning to the Browns.

Despite how the optics looked, Cleveland remained steadfast in their desire to keep Garrett. They refused to test the trade market for him and that move ended up paying off.

On Sunday before NFL free agency, the Browns were able to work out a massive four-year, $160 million contract extension to keep him in Cleveland.

Now, the question becomes, where do the Browns go from here?

During a segment on ESPN Cleveland, analyst Tom Rizzo revealed that he believes Cleveland has a bold goal following the Garrett extension. He thinks that the Browns are going to all-in on trying to win.

"I think they think they're going to try and contend in 2025," Rizzo stated bluntly.

What makes a team wanting to win a bold goal? In order to win, Cleveland is going to have to put in a lot of work. They also don't have a lot of financial flexibility to make more sizable moves.

The Browns are going to need to find a quarterback. They currently do not have a legitimate starter on their roster. Finding that quarterback could be difficult.

Following Garrett's decision to re-sign with Cleveland, his agent revealed his reasoning and outlook for the team. It's exactly what the Browns wanted to hear.

"Myles had a change of heart and he's excited to go from Cleveland to Canton and chase a championship in Ohio."
