New Twist in Case of Chiefs Fans Found Dead, Frozen

The father of one of the three Kansas City Chiefs fans found dead in a friend's backyard has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the two men charged in connection with the mysterious deaths.

According to TMZ Sports, Jon Harrington filed the lawsuit against Jordan Willis and Ivory Carson on Friday in Missouri. Willis and Carson were arrested and charged 14 months after the three fans were found dead and frozen in Willis' backyard after attending a watch party for the Los Angeles Chargers-Chiefs game. Officials say the three fans died of a fatal mixture of cocaine and fentanyl. Willis and Carson were arrested last week.

In his lawsuit, Harrington claims Willis and Carson gave his son, David, the lethal drugs and then "failed to render aid or otherwise attempt to recuse" his son when he began suffering from the fatal effects of the drugs.

The bodies of Ricky Johnson, Clayton McGeeney, and David were found on Jan. 9, 2024, two days after the watch party. More than a year later, authorities charged Willis and Carson with "distribution of a controlled substance and three counts of involuntary manslaughter." If convicted, Willis and Carson face up to 10 years in prison.

Willis previously said he didn't notice his friends' bodies on his property for several days, until the fiancée of one of the deceased men discovered his body while searching for him. Willis checked into rehab after the deadly incident.
