Alexander Isak

Davi Ornstain has provided some fresh updates on the transfer possibility of Liverpool target Alexander Isak.
It is no longer news that the Swede has emerged as the centre-piece of a potential high-profile battle between Liverpool and Arsenal. Both clubs are eager to secure a forward capable of propelling their squads to new heights.
Isak has 19 Premier League goals this term, a tally that is only bettered by Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool’s pursuit of Isak is driven by a perfect storm of circumstances: Darwin Nunez’s erratic performances and Arne Slot’s ambition to construct a more clinical offensive unit, particularly given Diogo Jota’s prolonged absences and the over-reliance on Mohamed Salah.
David Ornstein recently confirmed that Isak is a Liverpool target.
“They will obviously have multiple options on their radar, but the only name I’ve personally heard of so far is Alexander Isak. Liverpool aren’t alone in liking the Swede,” David Ornstein said.
“Liverpool will only move for Isak if he is genuinely available.”
“They’re not the type of club to engage in a wild goose chase.”
The journalist has now provided even more update on the striker and the possibility of him leaving Newcastle in the summer.
“Alexander Isak is the hottest property in the Premier League. That’s because of his goal-scoring record and what he has done at Newcastle United,” the reporter told NBC Sports when asked what he has learned about Isak’s future.
The first thing I’d like to point out is that Newcastle have no intention of selling Isak. They’ve got him on a contract until 2028. They pay him very handsomely, and if anything, they want to renew his deal and build with him for the future, not without him.
“However, what he is doing on the pitch is attracting interest from elsewhere. Mikel Arteta, for example, would love to sign him for Arsenal. He is at the top of their list if they are going to recruit a striker this summer, which they intend to. They’ve got other options as well that they may have to turn into if this proves impossible.
“A club like Liverpool are interested in him if Newcastle genuingly will listen to offers for him. We don’t jut know that yet because it is not on their agenda.
“The talk around the industry is that of a figure in the region of £150m even to discuss it with Newcastle. But that’s all hypothetical at this point. It is a situation that we are going to watch very closely. It may have an impact depending on if Newcastle qualify for the Champions League next season or not. Because with regard to Isak, he is a Champions League-level player. And so that will be an interesting factor that makes these final weeks of the season critically important.
Ornstein also revealed that although Newcastle’s revenue has increased, the club is still losing money. This has affected their chances of complying with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules. As a result, they could be forced to sell players this summer.
