With NBA rumors swirling that Kevin Durant could be on the trade block this summer, a new report reveals what the cost would be for potential suitors like the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat.
Both the Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves have had disappointing seasons, but for different reasons. The players the Wolves received in the blockbuster Karl-Anthony Towns trade have not delivered for much of the year. While the Jimmy Butler drama in South Beach undercut any chance of the Heat being a threat in the East.

Minnesota has played better in recent weeks. But just like Miami, they are not expected to get anywhere close to the NBA Finals this spring. It is why both teams have seen their brands thrown in various speculation about potential moves to bolster their rosters this summer. And one star they have been linked to is future Hall-of-Famer Kevin Durant.
Minnesota reportedly checked in on a trade when he was on the trade block for a limited time in February. And the Heat have been suitors for the NBA legend in the past. But what could the cost be in a potential trade? Well, the current price for the Phoenix Suns has been revealed.

“Sources informed The Republic the most ideal return on a Durant trade is regaining three first-round picks and a young player as part of a multi-team deal tied to getting under the second apron,” Arizona Republic NBA insider Duane Rankin wrote on Monday.

The Minnesota Timberwolves own their first round picks for the rest of the decade except in 2027. So they certainly have the draft chips to make a trade for the 15-time All-Star possible. The Miami Heat are in a similar situation and only lack a pick in 2027. However, a player like Tyler Herro off an All-Star season could have a lot of appeal to Phoenix.
