Fit with Browns

Pickett will likely compete for the team’s QB2 or QB3 role throughout the summer, depending on how the team handles Deshaun Watson’s roster spot.

Pickett’s been a more efficient passer throughout his career than Dorian Thompson-Robinson, though not as athletically gifted. Despite giving up a 5th-round pick in the swap, Pickett likely stabilizes the floor of the quarterback room heading into 2025.

Current Browns player the trade could impact

Nobody as of right now, but it goes without saying that Cleveland is still planning to add at least two more players to the quarterback room this offseason.

How the acquisition could impact theNFL Draft

Adding Pickett shouldn’t affect the Browns’ draft plans in any shape or form when it comes to the quarterback position. They’ll undoubtedly be selecting a quarterback somewhere in the 2025 NFL Draft.
