Former Cal DB Cam Bynum signs with Colts on $60M deal

**[Camryn Bynum](//247Sports.com/Player/Camryn-Bynum-80095)** is reuniting with one of his past "Takers" teammates from his California Golden Bears years.

The former Minnesota Vikings safety signed with the Indianapolis Colts Monday on a four-year, $60 million deal. Bynum's move arrives during the NFL's legal tampering period, which officially launches the start of the league's free agency week.

But Bynum's Colts arrival adds past Cal representation in Indy. Bynum is re-teaming with former college teammate Daniel Scott in the secondary.

Scott arrived to the Colts via the 2023 NFL Draft. The long-time Bears defensive back landed at No. 158 overall in the fifth round of that class. Scott remains under contract until 2027.

Bynum, meanwhile, became one of the more coveted safeties for this free agency cycle. He grabbed an NFL career-best three interceptions for the Vikings during their run to the playoffs. Minnesota finished 14-3 overall and came within one game of clinching both the NFC North and conference's top seed.

Bynum brings 342 career tackles including 217 solo stops in tow to the Colts. He's also broken up 28 total passes – including 19 through the last two seasons.

He starred in Berkeley from 2017 to 2020. Bynum joined Scott in forming the famed "Takers" alongside other future NFL DBs Jaylinn Hawkins, Ashtyn Davis, and Elijah Hicks. Former teammate Craig Woodson will soon join the league in the upcoming NFL Draft after taking part in the combine at Indy earlier in March.

Bynum went on to grab six interceptions and swatted 29 passes. He also delivered nine career tackles for a loss. The Colts are aiming to return to the playoffs after missing the postseason for the fourth consecutive season.
