Utah Jazz Player Receives Championship Ring Before Celtics Game

BOSTON – A seemingly routine road game against the Boston Celtics was much more than that for one Utah Jazz player.

Svi Mykhailiuk, who played in 41 regular season games and eight playoff games for the Celtics last season, received his championship ring pregame.

Mykhailiuk scored four points a game for Boston last year, serving as a quality sharpshooter off the bench.

In August following the Celtics’ win over Dallas in the NBA Finals, the Ukraine native signed a four-year, $15 million deal with the Utah Jazz.

The Kansas wing was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft and has played for seven teams during his career.

Mykhailiuk has career averages of 6.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists while shooting 40 percent from the floor and 36 percent from the three-point line.

Jazz Continue Road Trip In Boston Against Celtics

The Utah Jazz will end the east coast portion of their five-game road trip against the Boston Celtics tonight.

Utah is currently on a five-game losing streak and has also lost 12 straight on the road. Meanwhile, the Celtics have won four in a row, 10 of their last 12, and appear primed for another deep postseason run.

The injury report is lengthy for both teams on Monday in Beantown. Boston will be without Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford. Utah is without Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson, Keyonte George, and Taylor Hendricks.

This is the first of two matchups between Utah and Boston this season. The Celtics will come to Salt Lake City on Friday, March 21.
