AMES — A big football name just got added to Iowa State's coaching staff.
Bryce Paup is listed on Iowa State's roster as an assistant defensive line coach. He will help defensive line coach Eli Rasheed. Paup spent the past seven years coaching defensive line at Northern Iowa and was promoted to assistant head coach before joining ISU.
In the 11 total seasons Paup spent coaching at UNI, five of his defensive linemen earned All-America accolades, including first-team picks Karter Schult and Jared Brinkman.

Paup, from Scranton, Iowa, was a three-year starter at UNI as an inside and outside linebacker. The Green Bay Packers selected him in the sixth round of the 1990 NFL Draft and he went on to play 11 seasons in the NFL. With the Buffalo Bills in 1995 Paup recorded 17.5 sacks and earned NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors.
