The news hit the Cowboys hard, as the 29-year-old Lewis has spent his entire eight-year NFL career in Dallas up until this point and is among the most reliable performers on the defense, as well as a leader in the locker room.

Lewis took to social media himself on Monday evening with a four-word message for the Cowboys organization and its fans, as he prepares to depart for a $30 million payday in Jacksonville.
