Giants Re-Sign Darius Slayton, Sign James Hudson and Chris Board

**NEW YORK GIANTS RE-SIGN DARIUS SLAYTON…**

The New York Giants have re-signed unrestricted free agent WR **Darius Slayton** to a reported 3-year, $36 million contract.

In terms of numbers, Slayton had his second least-productive season in sixth year in 2024. He caught 39 passes (on 71 targets) for 573 yards (14.7 yards per reception) and two touchdowns. His yards after the catch (124) noticeably declined and he also dropped four passes.

Giants drafted Slayton in the 5th round of the 2019 NFL Draft. In four of his six seasons, he has ended the year with 46-50 receptions for 724-770 yards. Slayton has 21 career touchdown catches, with eight coming his rookie season. Slayton’s journey has been up-and-down, but when counted out, he somehow manages to remain in the picture. He has decent size (6’1”, 198 pounds) and very good speed. Slayton can stretch the field and get deep. He flashes the ability to adjust to the football, but he is not a very physical receiver and can disappear for stretches. Slayton has had issues with dropped passes throughout his career (28).

**GIANTS SIGN JAMES HUDSON AND CHRIS BOARD…**

The Giants have signed unrestricted free agents OT **James Hudson** (Cleveland Browns) and ILB **Chris Board** (Baltimore Ravens). Hudson’s deal is reportedly a 2-year, $12 million contract that could include another $4 million in incentives. Board’s deal is reportedly a 2-year contract that could be worth up to $6 million.

The 25-year old, 6’5”, 313-pound Hudson was drafted in the 4th round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Browns. In four seasons with Cleveland, Hudson has played in 49 regular-season games with 17 starts (14 at right tackle, three at left tackle).

The 29-year old, 6’2”, 240-pound Board was originally signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted rookie free agent after the 2018 NFL Draft. He has spent time with the Ravens (2018-2021, 2024), Detroit Lions (2022), and New England Patriots (2023). In his seven seasons, Board has played in 114 games with four starts, accruing 155 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three pass defenses, and three forced fumbles. He’s been a core special teams player throughout his NFL career, with 65 special teams tackles since 2018 and a special teams captain in 2024.
