Crystal Palace were in Premier League action this past weekend

Crystal Palace won 1-0 at home to Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon. Attacker Ismaila Sarr got their winner late on against the Tractor Boys.

The Eagles had to be patient to break down their opponents at Selhurst Park. They are in good form at the moment and have risen up to 11th place in the table.

Oliver Glasner’s side have 10 fixtures left to play this season. They now have 39 points on the board.

Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell eyed by AC Milan

Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell is attracting ‘interest’ from AC Milan, according to a report by TEAMtalk. The Eagles could face a battle to keep hold of the defender ahead of the summer amid reported attention from the Serie A giants.

Mitchell, 25, has been on the books of the London club since joining them back in 2016 from Brentford. He made two caps for England back in 2022.

He was a regular for his current club at various different youth levels and he made his first-team debut in 2020 in a league clash against Leicester City. The Brent-born man has since become a key player.

The full-back has made 176 appearances in all competitions for Crystal Palace to date, 33 of which have come this term, and he has chipped in with three goals from the back. It remains to be seen whether he will still be playing for them come the next campaign.

A switch to AC Milan would give Mitchell the chance to test himself in a new country. They have underperformed this term and find themselves down in 9th position in the league.

They finished 2nd last year as they narrowly fell short of rivals Inter Milan. AC won 3-2 away at Lecce last time out and are back in action against Como this weekend as they look to build momentum.

Oliver Glasner reaction to Crystal Palace win

Speaking after their victory over Ipswich, Glasner said: “It was a tough game – a game how we expected it. Ipswich made it difficult for us, and they make it difficult for any opposition in the league. I think they haven’t got the results maybe they’ve deserved in the last weeks.

“We knew, especially when we missed a few clear chances, that makes it just even harder. We can't always expect that the players will perform at their top level, like they did against Villa, being very efficient, because we're all not always on our top level.

“But we could see a big effort from the beginning, I could see that we created many chances and we missed them. Of course, they also had two or three – we needed Dean Henderson in two or three situations to help us.

“And then it was important to stay patient, because in the last similar games against Everton and Brentford, we made the decisive mistake and lost the game – whereas today, we waited for this situation and then we were ruthless with Ismaila Sarr’s finish, and took the win.”
