Chinese Ambassador to Ireland Zhao Xiyuan Meets with MEP Barry Cowen

On March 7, Ambassador Zhao Xiyuan met with MEP Barry Cowen and held friendly discussions on China-Ireland cooperation and China-EU relations.

Mr. Cowen stated that amid the current complex and evolving international landscape, it serves the common interests of both Europe and China to enhance dialogue and cooperation while appropriately managing differences, which contributes to global peace, stability, and prosperity. He expressed his willingness to make positive efforts to promote the European Parliament’s understanding of and engagement with China.

Ambassador Zhao appreciated Mr. Cowen's longstanding positive contribution to the development of China-Ireland and China-EU relations. He reaffirmed China’s readiness to engage in candid exchanges with more MEPs in a constructive manner, jointly promoting China-EU dialogue and cooperation, and contributing to the steady development of China-Ireland and China-EU relations.
