The Washington Commanders aren't waiting around this offseason, and general manager Adam Peters has gotten into his groove early.
Deebo Samuel was acquired via trade, Zach Ertz and Bobby Wanger have re-signed, and now comes the latest move-and it's a doozy. The Commanders traded for Houston Texans' five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil.
Per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Commanders gave up a third and seventh-round pick in 2025 and a second and a fourth-rounder in 2026 to get Tunsil and a fourth-round pick in 2025.
Such was the move that ESPN's Louis Riddick was glowing in endorsing what Adam Peters is doing.
"I like what Adam Peters, the general manager is doing to help his young quarterback," Riddick said on ESPN. "He's saying look, we want to make sure we're dominant on the offensive line, we want to make sure he's protected on the perimeter. Laremy Tunsil, you upgraded at left tackle now. What else do you do? You got to get him a home-run threat at running back, Deebo is already there, Terry McLaurin is there, great, get him another one. This offense is rolling. This team is rolling."
The Commanders knew their offensive weaknesses entering the offseason were at receiver and left tackle, and boom, Deebo and Tunsil come into the locker room.
Washington had the cap space and has gone about putting as many quality pieces around Daniels as possible to take advantage of his rookie contract.
