Darius Slayton is staying put.
According to ESPN, the Giants re-signed the 28-year-old wide receiver when the NFL legal free agent tampering window opened Monday. We’ll see what the real money winds up being, but it’s reportedly a three-year, $36 million contract.

Slayton, a six-year veteran, was drafted by the Giants in the fifth round of the 2019 draft (171st overall). He has since blossomed into a rock-solid No. 2 wide receiver opposite rookie sensation Malik Nabers.
He posted career-best numbers as the No. 1 receiver in 2023 — 770 yards and four touchdowns on 50 catches. His metrics dipped slightly last season — 573 yards and two touchdowns on 39 catches — but that can mostly be chalked up to the Giants’ woeful offense, which spun through four different quarterbacks.
General manager Joe Schoen is determined to find stability at the quarterback position this offseason. Let’s see if it’s a rookie (like Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders) or a veteran (like Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers) slinging it to Slayton and Co. next season.
As for the rest of the Giants’ offseason needs, Slayton’s extension crosses a major one — WR2 — off the list. If he didn’t re-sign, it was unclear Schoen would sign different free agent, draft a rookie or go to an internal option like Jalin Hyatt to take over that role. Now he won’t have to worry about that.
