Liverpool Get Major Boost as Key Player Who Missed PSG First Leg Set to Return

Liverpool could be seeing a key player return to the pitch after not having him ready to play in the first leg against Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes.

Nonetheless, if PSG and Liverpool play a similar game as last week, the Reds will need all hands on deck to strike when the opportunity presents itself. There’s a chance the Reds have Cody Gakpo out on the pitch to help them get through to the quarterfinals.

The No. 18 missed the Reds’ 1-0 win due to injury despite making the trip to France. Now it seems that he’ll be ready for the contest, although Arne Slot did pump the breaks.

Gakpo returned to training under head coach Arne Slot at the AXA Training Centre on Monday afternoon and is now set to return to action after missing Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Southampton this past weekend.

[Slot confirmed in his pre-match press conference](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/liverpool-v-paris-saint-germain-team-news) that Gakpo will be available, saying, _“Yeah, he will be in the squad. He trained today for the first time.”_

Meanwhile, Conor Bradley, Joe Gomez, and Tyler Morton remain out as they recover from muscle, hamstring, and shoulder injuries, respectively.
