The title race is probably but not mathematically over

The mathematics for Arsenal to win the Premier League title this season are simple and becoming highly unlikely.

Liverpool needs only 16 more points to win the Premier League, even if Arsenal wins all 10 of their remaining Premier League matches this season. In other words, the Reds can drop 17 of their remaining 33 points and still win the league title. Liverpool needs an average of 1.38 per game in their last 11 league matches to raise the trophy. They are averaging 2.41 points per game after 29 played.

Thus Gooners, we have to be realistic the Gunners will probably finish 2nd in the league for the third straight year, unless Nottingham Forest or Chelsea can finish stronger.

With that said, here are my Top 4 predictions…

Liverpool – 97 points

Arsenal – 84 points (take 2nd on goal differential)

Nottingham Forest – 84 points

Chelsea – 67 points

There’s always next year…
