Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, stressed on Monday his country’s keenness on supporting all international efforts aimed at resolving the crisis in Ukraine and establishing peace.

He met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Jeddah for official talks on the latest developments in the Ukrainian crisis. They also tackled bilateral ties between their countries.

Jeddah is hosting on Tuesday talks between US and Ukrainian officials on ending the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Zelenskyy said talks with Crown Prince Mohammed focused on bilateral relations, as well as cooperation with other partners.

He praised Crown Prince Mohammed’s efforts that are helping pave the way for real peace.

“Saudi Arabia provides a significant diplomatic platform and we appreciate that,” he added.

He revealed that talks with the Crown Prince tackled the steps and conditions that could help end the war and ensure permanent peace.

“On our side, we are fully committed to constructive dialogue, and we hope to discuss and agree on the necessary decisions and steps,” Zelenskyy said in a post on X. “Realistic proposals are on the table. The key is to move quickly and effectively.”

Since the eruption of the crisis, Crown Prince Mohammed had underscored the Kingdom’s keenness on helping facilitate dialogue that could pave the way for lasting peace given its international standing and humanitarian initiatives.

Zelenskyy had arrived in Saudi Arabia earlier on Monday on his fourth visit to the country since the eruption of the conflict in February 2022. He has since departed the Kingdom.
