'I’m sure he’d love to': National team coach says £84m attacker would actually be well-suited to Liverpool

Liverpool have arguably the best array of attacking options out of any side in world football this season.

Mohamed Salah is an early favourite for the Ballon d’Or award, whilst Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz are on course for their best seasons yet for Liverpool under Arne Slot, who has gotten a real tune out of his wingers since arriving from Feyenoord.

With Darwin Nunez linked with an exit from Liverpool, though, there’s a real chance that the Anfield side could dip into the summer transfer market to bring in a new option for their forward ranks should the Uruguay international leave Merseyside.

And Liverpool have now seemingly been suggested a player who in the last 18 months has been tracked by the Reds before making a big-money move in the January transfer window.

Georgia coach suggests Khvicha Kvaratskhelia would suit Liverpool

Speaking to TalkSport, Georgia assistant coach David Webb name-checked Liverpool as a potential destination for PSG attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia should the winger decide to make the move to England in the future.

Webb said: “His profile definitely fits the higher-end clubs like Man City and Liverpool, particularly when you’ve got such a fluid front three. That would suit his game. Liverpool and City obviously stand out and Arsenal to have that fluid front three.”

Indeed, a move to England might be too soon, but Webb believes Kvaratskhelia is heading in that direction, with the coach adding: “He’s definitely on the right trajectory and I’m sure he’d love to be in the Premier League one day. We’ve had a chat and he’s always curious of the levels in England and what it’s like.

“Obviously he makes his own observations of what he sees and he watches a lot of Premier League football but from the conversations we’ve had I think he’d definitely love to have a stint in the Premier League at some point in his career.”

Could Liverpool actually move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the summer?

With Liverpool interested in Kvaratskhelia before the winger’s £84m move to PSG in January, there’s clearly something the Reds like about the Georgia international having been linked with the attacker for so long.

Yet given how recently the former Napoli man made the move to France, the chances of Liverpool making an attempt to sign Kvaratskhelia in the summer are next to zero, even with the PSG star as highly rated as he is at Anfield.

Indeed, Kvaratskhelia could one day end up at Liverpool in the next 18 months, but the Reds will have to bide their time before trying to recruit the former Serie A superstar one more time having failed already with the attacker.
