Attacking midfielder Ryan Cherki has reminded Liverpool of what they missed out on after a potential January transfer move failed to happen.
As the winter window was approaching its end, transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Arne Slot's side could still make a move for Cherki. Despite regular reports linking the 21-year-old with a move to Anfield, any potential move has been yet to materialise.
Cherki is on a run of seven games where he has earned either a goal or an assist - dating back to the day before the January transfer window ended. Across these matches, the youngster has bagged three goals and a whopping eight assists.

His latest game, against Nice, saw the playmaker bag an impressive goal as he ran onto Thiago Almada's through-ball before finishing low with his right foot.
Although the 21-year-old has found his form, he is playing for a Lyon side which is struggling in Ligue 1. They currently lie in sixth place in the table, a UEFA Conference League qualification position.
The French club found success in the mid-2000's where they set the French football record of most Ligue 1 trophies won in a row, something that the current giants of France, PSG, are yet to beat.
Cherki himself has never won a major honour in his career and has instead finished as runner-up three times in separate competitions. While Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Cherki, alongside German outfit Borussia Dortmund, Lyon appear determined to try and keep hold of him.
Speaking after the January transfer window, Lyon president John Textor told Sky Germany: "The offer from Dortmund was communicated disrespectfully, was well below market value and was poorly timed. Rayan Cherki will remain an important part of our team until the end of the 2024/25 season."
"We have rejected Borussia Dortmund's offer and have no intention of negotiating with them or any other club," Textor added.
