A Ukrainian delegation has arrived in Saudi Arabia for talks with U.S. representatives, Andriy Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, announced on Telegram. “The team is on-site. We are preparing to get to work,” he [wrote](https://t.me/ermaka2022/5955).
Yermak said the discussions would focus on “defending Ukraine’s interests and a clear vision for ending the war,” adding that the delegation would work “effectively with American partners.”
The Ukrainian delegation includes Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa, who is described as an adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky on military affairs.
The U.S. delegation is led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, with National Security Advisor Mike Waltz also taking part. Speaking ahead of the talks, Rubio [told](https://edition.cnn.com/2025/03/10/politics/rubio-ukraine-saudi-meeting/index.html) CNN, “My hope is we’re going to have a really good meeting tomorrow, and we’ll be in a different place very soon.”
