Report: TFG complete 100-day review of Everton and now really want one player in particular to…

The Friedkin Group completed their Everton takeover in December.

The American investors took the reigns from Farhad Moshiri, who ended his controversial eight-year tenure at Goodison Park.

Moshiri had plummeted Everton into multiple relegation battles due to his careless spending and the club also had to contend with a number of PSR issues.

However, his legacy will be the new stadium on Bramley Moore-Dock, which the Toffees are due to move into next season.

The Friedkin’s have now been in post for just over three months and now, after completing a review of the club, they are ready to make a substantial contract offer to one player who’s been linked with the exit door.

The Friedkin Group ready to offer Jarrad Branthwaite substantial new contract

According to GiveMeSport, after the Friedkin Group’s 100-day review of Everton, they now really want to tie Jarrad Branthwaite down to fresh terms.

The Toffees owners didn’t want to make any key decisions until they had conducted their audit of the club.

The Friedkin’s also wanted a new executive team in place first and now with that done, they’re ready to open contract talks with Branthwaite, whose current deal sees him earn around £35,000-a-week.

The Americans are willing to offer him an improved deal worth in excess of £100,000-a-week, even though some of the hierarchy don’t want to break the wage structure.

Everton want to fend off interest from Man United

Manchester United are showing an interest in Branthwaite having made a substantial bid for him last summer.

The 22-year-old centre-back, who is under contract until 2027, was seen as a sellable asset during Everton’s PSR issues, but now those concerns are set to be lifted in the summer.

Everton are confident they will be well clear of the PSR limit going forward, so there’s no pressure to sell Branthwaite.

The future is certainly bright for the Merseysiders.
