His goal on Monday night means that Bruno now has 11 goal contributions this season.

It was his third strike of the season, but undoubtedly his most important. His first goal had come in a 4-0 win over Leicester City, while his second was in the 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth.

Following the win, Bruno told Newcastle’s official website that the unique celebration was for his son Pietro.

“It is Pietro’s birthday today,” he said.

“I promised my family that if I scored I would walk like him, so it was a great moment.”

As Bruno says, it is the perfect start to a massive week for Newcastle United.

Now attentions turn to Wembley, as Newcastle United prepare to face Liverpool in the 2025 Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
