Aston Villa loanee Marcus Rashford has moved out of Manchester, United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe has confirmed.

The 27-year-old agreed to join Unai Emery's side on an initial loan move and could seal a permanent transfer in the summer as Villa have a £40m option to buy him.

United wanted to offload the forward in the winter window after he failed to impress Ruben Amorim in training, but he has rediscovered form under Emery.

After assisting both of Marco Asensio's goals in the FA Cup fifth round win over Cardiff City 10 days ago, Rashford had created more chances in all competitions than any other Premier League player (13) since he joined the club.

Rashford made his sixth appearance for Villa in the win over the Bluebirds, before then featuring against Club Brugge and Brentford.

Speaking to the BBC about Rashford, United co-owner Ratcliffe said: "He's moved out of Manchester and maybe that's a good thing for him.

"I am very pleased he is doing well. It's good to see because he has got tremendous talent, but for whatever reason it wasn't working in Manchester for the past couple of seasons. But he is a very talented footballer, Rashford."

Rashford could make his ninth appearance for Villa on Wednesday night when Villa host Brugge for the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.
