WEST Ham boss Graham Potter bemoaned the "clear" foul that he felt was missed in the build-up to [Newcastle United](http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle)'s winner at the London Stadium on Monday night.

Potter said Newcastle striker Alexander Isak should have been penalised for a push on defender Max Kilman after Harvey Barnes had floated in a cross that was turned home by Bruno Guimaraes, which turned out to be the winning goal.

Kilman agreed with Potter, saying it should have been a foul, and West Ham's boss claimed that even Isak looked as though he was expecting the goal to be disallowed.

Potter said: “We think it’s clear.

“It’s two hands on the back of the defender. You can see from how Isak celebrates, or doesn’t celebrate, that he thinks it’s a push.

“But the ones that matter don’t. That’s life and you have to get on with it.

“I feel for the players, they put such a lot into the game. It was a really committed performance.”

Kilman said: "I jumped in the air and felt a hard push. I'm an honest player, I wasn't looking for anything.

"I felt like it was a foul and I think it should have been given. But that's football and we need to move on."

Newcastle climbed to sixth thanks to the win and are now level on points with Manchester City and just two behind Chelsea. West Ham remain 16th.

Potter added: "It was a game that ebbed and flowed a bit. We had a good start then they came back into it then we had opportunities.

"It was a bit of a there and back game. I don't think we did enough to win the game but thought we could have got something from it.

"We always have to look at ourselves. When you lose 1-0 you can always do more from an attacking perspective. The players gave everything, it just wasn't our day today."
