Ipswich Town under-21s played out a goalless draw away to Swansea City at their Landore training ground last night.

John McGreal's side went into this game off the back of their 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in the last 16 of the Premier League Cup last Friday.

The Welsh side came closest to scoring in the first half, with Town goalkeeper Woody Williamson saving Maliq Cadogan's close range effort.

Town's first big chance of the game fall to Leon Elliott, whose volley from a tight angle was pushed away by Swansea keeper Kit Margetson.

The young Blues then came close to winning the game in the 87th minute when Jamie Mauge's powerful strike was saved by Margetson, as both sides had to settle for a share of the points.

They remain eighth in the Professional Development League Two South and return to action with a trip to fifth-placed Bournemouth on Friday.

**Town under-21s:** Williamson, Elliott, Lewis, Agbaje, Heard, Turner, Morgan, Towler, Mauge, T Taylor, Boniface.
