Move for Liverpool player ‘extremely complicated’ – Transfer drama stirred again

Barcelona could be an option for Liverpool star Mohamed Salah next season, according to Sport.

The Egypt international’s contract expires in June and it’s not yet clear where he’ll play next season.

Last summer, Barcelona had looked at the Liverpool player and even approached him. The contacts weren’t converted into negotiations, or an offer.

Sport’s title states ‘Salah offers himself to Barca again’. Within the report, they state the La Liga have reopened the 32-year-old’s case after making contact in the past.

It’s claimed ‘anything is possible’, but Barcelona making progress in this operation seems to be ‘extremely complicated’. The forward fits into the sporting needs of the Catalan club but not economically.

Barcelona are well aware of the financial ‘difficulties’ of acquiring Salah’s services. He currently earns £15m gross per year and Liverpool are working to renew his contract.

Sport claim the Spanish giants believe that Salah has offered himself because he wants a move away from Liverpool but also wants to stay in Europe. They add the former Chelsea man has to take a significant pay cut to arrive at the Camp Nou.

Should Salah decide to leave the Reds as a free agent, he’s likely to be approached by Saudi Arabia clubs. There’s also been a talk of a €50m per year offer from Al-Hilal.
