Former Swansea City boss Russell Martin
Ex-Swansea City manager Russell Martin admits his next move is unlikely to be in the Premier League, amid reports linking him with a move to former club Rangers.
Martin has been out of work since he was sacked by Southampton back in December. After leaving Swansea, he guided Saints to promotion via the play-offs last season, but claimed just five points from their opening 16 Premier League games.
The Saints have racked up just four more points since Martin was replaced by Ivan Juric, and are on course for the worst ever points tally in Premier League history. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.
However, the 39-year-old's stock remains relatively high, with reports linking Martin with a return to Ibrox in light of Philippe Clement's recent departure.
Speaking to Sky Sports' Monday Night Football after Newcastle United's 1-0 win over West Ham, Martin was quizzed about his next move and indeed the links with his former club.
He responded: "I think I am realistic. I don't think I will get another Premier League chance right now.
"I think like most managers that come from the Championship is like they get there and are not quite good enough for the Premier League.

"Which is maybe unfair on the managers that get there at times because you're there with a squad that has been so successful a year before but it is not maybe not quite ready for the Premier League.
"But I think there's only two managers have been taken out the Championship for a long time - Nathan Jones and Graham Potter - and the others have to get there and try and stay there and then be deemed a success.
"I really don't know (where is next). I am open to working abroad, in England again - I want to work back in the Premier League now I have got a taste of it.
"I want to get back there and I believe I can, so we will just have to wait and see."
