All The Cowboys Moves So Far As Fans Angered By Free Agency Plan

If you listen closely, you can hear the collective sigh and the angry groan from Cowboys Nation as the Dallas Cowboys were once again largely bystanders as NFL free agency began.

The franchise lost Jourdan Lewis to the Jacksonville Jaguars in a move that a source told our own Mike Fisher left them "stunned,'' along with offensive lineman Chuma Edoga.

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams was a late addition on a one-year, $3 million deal. Dallas signed offensive lineman Rob Jones.Oh, and long-snapper Trent Sieg signed an extension.

The frustration can be felt all over social media with the Cowboys seemingly quiet when they have ample cap space to make some moves.

Or is this what "selectively aggressive" looks like?

Either way, another potential target in Dre Greenlaw is off the market to go along with receiver Marquise Brown, Nick Bolton and running back Aaron Jones - all names whispered about in Dallas - so the Cowboys were not especially active.

Is that a shock? No.

It is disappointing? Sure, especially seeing the likes of the Washington Commanders, who have already traded for Deebo Samuel, adding five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil.

That leaves Dallas fans wondering why Jerry and Stephen Jones cleared all this cap space (originally viewed as up to $100 million worth), only to not be "buyers.''

But we offer this to those who are frustrated with Dallas' lack of dealings - Tier 1 signing were never part of the plan.

We have stated for the past couple of weeks, that the Cowboys wouldn't likely be interested in Tier 1 free agents, but more so, Tier 2.

Stefon Diggs is still available, as are Jonathan Allen, a disgruntled Dante Fowler Jr., Kyzir White, Rasul Douglas, and DeAndre Hopkins, just to name a few. It is here that the Cowboys could do their business.

But ... one, we don't say that to get your hopes up. We are just open to the ideas.

And ... two, it isn't ideal for the rest of the NFL to get better, particularly the NFC East, with the Philadelphia Eagles already having a better roster. Now, the argument can be made that Washington does, too.

Still, we get the sense that it was always Dallas' preference to sit out the first day and let the big deals happen.

But if this is part of Jerry Jones' plan after restructuring the contracts of Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, then we assume the franchise will be far more active in the coming days.

Because if they aren't, then - again - why go through the work of creating all that cap space?
