Sir Jim Ratcliffe has ensured he’s set to dominate the agenda for a while at Manchester United, perhaps to the comfort of Ruben Amorim!
The Man Utd part-owner recently gave a series of interviews to various outlets where he addressed everything from United’s new stadium plans to brutal honesty on Erik ten Hag.
Man Utd fans have long wanted the ownership to face the music instead of putting a hapless Ruben Amorim in front of the media twice every week, to explain decisions he probably isn’t even making!
The Man Utd manager will highly appreciate Ratcliffe clarifying his stance on two players at the club. He’s sent a clear message straight from the top.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s verdict on two transfers
In a generally quiet January window, the whole narrative around the club was turned upside down due to two transfer stories.
Marcus Rashford and his exit being a matter of “when”, and not “if”, was one, while the other was the club being open to two sales.
Those two players represented the very essence of Manchester United – Youth.Courage.Success.
Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho ultimately ended the window as Man Utd players but the rumours continue to swirl as United’s financial situation hits alarming levels.

However, in an interview with the BBC, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has now revealed that absolutely no sales will be made from a clearly financial point of view, thereby ensuring that both Mainoo and Garnacho will stay at the club unless they give the club a footballing reason to let them go.
He said: “No no. We won’t be selling players because of the state we are in financially. The club had got bloated so we reduced that and will finish it with a lean and efficient organisation.
“That’s how we will address the costs. The player decisions will all be focused on how we are going to improve performance. That’s all.”
Communication from Man Utd executive team is crucial
This is a shining example of how crucial communication is when it comes straight from the people who make the decisions.
If Amorim says the same thing, it will probably be taken as brinkmanship for negotiations and won’t quell the media frenzy around the same.
However, now that Ratcliffe has confirmed United’s stance, there is likely to be less noise (there’s never no noise!) around this issue because this is as clear a message as it gets.
Fans would probably appreciate more words from Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox as well instead of letting Amorim fend for himself twice every week before and after games.
After all, he’s not the one cutting jobs, making stadium plans, setting the transfer strategy for the long-term.
