Arsenal ace issues update on renewal talks amid Real Madrid interest – ‘There is no rush’

Real Madrid will lock horns with Atletico Madrid tomorrow night at the Metropolitano hoping to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Having secured a 2-1 win over the Rojiblancos in the first leg of their Round-of-16 tie at the Santiago Bernabeu last week, Carlo Ancelotti & co. will be aiming to get the job done on Wednesday.

Leading up to the game, there has been speculations about who will be the third midfielder for Real Madrid alongside Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni, given that Federico Valverde is expected to play at right-back and Dani Ceballos is injured.

Brahim Diaz, as a result, has emerged as a contender to start against Atletico, ahead of Eduardo Camavinga, who has been struggling for form.

The 25-year-old versatile attacking midfielder was down with a fever, which prevented him from training with the rest of the squad earlier this week as per the report.

As such, Real Madrid are now waiting to see how the Moroccan international feels today and whether he is in a condition to train or not.

In case Brahim does not train today as well, his availability for the clash against Atletico Madrid will be cast into uncertainty.

So far this season, Brahim has featured 38 times in all competitions for Real Madrid, scoring six and registering seven assists.

If he is not ready to start tomorrow, Ancelotti can turn to captain Luka Modric, who is also making a strong case for his inclusion in the lineup after an impressive display against Rayo Vallecano at the weekend.
