Arne Slot would be crazy not to move for Ajax defender Jorrel Hato as a replacement for Andy Robertson at Liverpool this summer.
That’s according to journalist Kenneth Perez, who is one of several who can see the player making the move in quotes r[elayed by Soccer News.](https://www.soccernews.nl/news/jorrel-hato-sprak-al-met-grootmacht/)
Hato is one of the rising stars of the current Ajax squad, having established himself as a first-team regular over the last year and a half after moving into the first team from the club’s youth sides in 2023.
That’s seen him linked with a big move regularly in that time and Liverpool have always been one of the clubs credited with an interest.
Hato added fuel to that fire when he visited Liverpool and was spotted at Anfield, although he later explained this was simply to meet with former Ajax teammate Ryan Gravenberch.
His explanation hasn’t stopped the rumours from swirling, particularly with the growing belief that Liverpool need to sign a left-back to replace Andy Robertson this summer.
Hato, at 19-years-old, could be a long-term solution and is a player Arne Slot will know well after his time in the Netherlands. Vissers certainly believes that it would be mad for him not to move to sign the defender.
_“Andy Robertson is going to retire soon. Maybe at the end of this season or after, but Hato would be the perfect left back for Liverpool,”_ started Maarten Wijffels on ESPN’s Voetbalpraat programme.
_“He has also been there, and he has undoubtedly spoken to people from the club. When you see how he goes along in attacks and how many assists and goals he has to his name. He is involved in a lot of goals._
_“Arne Slot would be crazy not to bring in Hato, if they can afford him,”_ concluded Perez.
