**_TalkSPORT_ pundit Jamie O’Hara has been highly critical of West Ham following a drab 1-0 home defeat to Newcastle on Monday night.**
The former Tottenham midfielder said that “one moment” in the second half summed up the Hammers’ sterile performance:
“I was so disappointed with West Ham, I was expecting something more than that. They were terrible tonight. I was watching the game, sideways, backwards. Sideways back.”
“There was one moment in the second half, West Ham, where they passed it back and forth between the midfield and the wing. In the end, I could hear the fans going – Any danger of going forward’?”
West Ham are struggling in the final third
------------------------------------------
Since [**Graham Potter**](https://hammersheadlines.com/west-ham-transfer-news-angel-gomes/)‘s arrival, the Irons have had the fewest number of shots per game in the whole Premier League.
Speaking about the issues in attack following the loss to the Magpies, Potter explained that his main priority after his appointment was to stop the team from conceding so many goals.
He has achieved that aim to a large extent, but it has meant sacrificing a great deal at the other end of the pitch.
Concerns about Potter’s playing style
-------------------------------------
Supporters will give the manager some leeway to implement his ideas and he may need a transfer window to bring in the type of players he requires to play the way he wants.
However, there are some worrying parallels to his time at Chelsea. Despite having a wealth of talent available to him at Stamford Bridge, he failed to replicate the fluid, attacking brand of football he had developed at Swansea and Brighton.
Of course, the fact that he was sacked so early into his tenure means some will rightly argue that he wasn’t given enough time. It remains to be seen if West Ham will be more patient.
