Arsenal are showing interest in Brazilian star ahead of summer transfer window. They are planning to partner him with Declan Rice in the middle of the pitch.
Gunners are set for a major summer window with attack being their top priority. They are also in need to bring in new midfielders as both Thomas Partey and Jorginho are set to leave the club as free agents. As of now, Martin Zubimendi is said to be top target of the club but the North London club are keeping an open eye on other targets too.
Arsenal linked with world-class Brazilian midfielder
The star in question here is Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle United. He is 28 years old and has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Premier League. In addition, he is also a regular member of Brazil national team.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that Arsenal hold interest in Bruno Guimaraes. He added that the Magpies could be forced to sell him in summer due to PSR. But their top priority will be to keep hold of the Brazilian.
“Bruno Guimaraes is one Arsenal have been considering. The PSR issues at Newcastle could play a part if they are still struggling to spend money” – Brown confirming Arsenal’s interest in Guimaraes.
Brown said that Magpies want their top players to stay at the club. But just like last summer, PSR will restrict them from spending this summer. This will force the club to part ways with some of their key players. If Guimaraes is made available in summer, he will cost a hefty amount of money for sure.

“Guimaraes is one of those players who could fit into most teams in country. He would slot in nicely alongside Declan Rice at Arsenal, who I think is a Rolls Royce, and create a really formidable midfield” – Brown about potential Rice and Guimaraes partnership.
