Pearce's health update
Psycho suffered medical emergency last week
Forest legend was able to watch Saturday's win against Man City
Stuart Pearce has provided a positive update on his health after suffering a medical emergency on a flight last week.
News emerged on Saturday morning of the Forest legend’s condition prior to the Reds’ Premier League match against Manchester City in the early kick-off.
In the third minute of the match, to mark his number during his playing days at The City Ground, messages were displayed in the Trent End and on the screens before the stadium rose to applaud and send their best wishes to Pearce, who was watching from Canada.
We were pleased to see reports he was feeling better over the weekend, and this lunchtime, Psycho provided a health update to talkSport, for whom he provides co-commentary and punditry work
Speaking earlier today, Pearce said: “I’m brilliant, I’m in good form. On the flight I had some chest pains but the crew were brilliant and looked after me fantastically.
“They told me they weren’t going to take the chance travelling across the Atlantic and they were going to drop me off, so I’m in St John’s (Canada), spent five days in hospital and a few days out.

“I’ve had some brilliant messages from people and I’ve been fortunate enough to watch a few games; the Forest game against Manchester City was very humbling, I saw the bits from that.
“My heart rate was racing, my resting heart rate was above 155 BPM and my heart wasn’t pumping enough blood around my system.
“When I get home I’ll have some checks and I’ll see my GP but I feel brilliant in myself and I’m in really good hands.
“We were fortunate enough to see pictures of the match and it was so humbling. Obviously Manchester City were playing as well and their fans were supportive.
“It was really nice to hear Nuno’s message that I am part of their family and my history with the club dictates that. It’s what I’d expect from that football club; they’re incredible.”
