Unai Emery has warned that Aston Villa's job against Club Brugge is far from complete, using Celtic as an example of how quickly a two-goal lead can be lost.

The Scottish champions scored twice in the space of two minutes at Villa Park in the league phase clash back in January to level the game up at 2-2 before the break.

Morgan Rogers had put Villa two goals to the good inside the first five minutes, so Emery was keen to stress how his side's 3-1 cushion against Brugge could be removed in the second leg on Wednesday night.

"Nothing changes," Emery said of how Villa have prepared for the game. "We respect them a lot. We have our own experiences and myself. Anything could happen. Why? Because it is a 90 minute football match.

"The match can change so quickly. We won there but in the last minutes in two actions we had. The respect of them is massive.

"The result is for us to follow the same game plan. We are ready to compete. We are ready in case there is extra-time and penalties.

"We must separate each competition. The challenge we have in the Champions League is a huge challenge. To achieve something as a club and for the supporters. Something for history and for us as professionals.

"To achieve it, the challenge is to think that anything can happen. We have to follow the same idea as before. The result is 3-1 but they can score and we have experiences against Celtic, when we were winning 2-0 and in five minutes we were drawing.

"How we are going to face the season from now and until the end is really to try and get our best collectively and individually."

Emery added: "I think the supporters know the importance of our process here. Not only at Villa Park, but as well they were in Brugge.

"The way they support us is very important, to be motivated and excited, pushing us to show them the best. I think it is a really special moment tomorrow in Villa Park. We have to be together, enjoy it together and also get balance. Emotionally we have to feel it.
