William Saliba addressed the speculation about his Arsenal future ahead of their Champions League second leg with PSV Eindhoven, following a stellar performance in the club's resounding 7-1 first-leg victory against the Dutch giants. The French defender is poised to play again as Mikel Arteta aims to steer the team smoothly through to the next stage and on their way to Madrid to face Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid.
Real Madrid appear to have cast their eyes over the defender, mulling a potential swoop as they look to rejuvenate their ageing backline. But the 23-year-old has made it clear he has no plans to leave. He is in discussions to extend his contract with his current deal running through until the end of the 2025/26 season. He said: "For me, I'm really happy here. I've been here for two years and a half as well. There is nothing. I'm happy here and I want to continue here.
"Not yet, because there is some years [left], so there is no rush at the minute. I'm happy here, that's it.
"Of course I want to win big things with Arsenal. If you love this club, and it didn't mean anything, of course I want to win big things here."
Saliba now has the opportunity to face off against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals, provided both his team and the Spanish giants successfully navigate past PSV and Atletico Madrid respectively.
