Nelson Semedo was impressed by Bruno Fernandes’ free-kick goal against Arsenal. The Wolves captain has congratulated the Red Devils’ skipper for his impressive strike on goal last weekend.
Man United took a point from Arsenal after Declan Rice’s second half equaliser cancelled out Fernandes’ 47th-minute free-kick.
It was the Portuguese midfielder’s effort which caught the eye of Semedo though.

Nelson Semedo responds to Bruno Fernandes’ free-kick
Fernandes’ goal, which was his 12th of the season, saw the midfielder whip the ball up and over the Gunners’ wall and past David Raya.
Although his strike failed to be the game’s winner, Fernandes was quick to post his achievement on his social media. He posted a series of images showing his free-kick with a dart hitting the target emoji.
Semedo was one of the first players to respond. The Wolves full-back wrote: “Aquela chapada”, which, when directly translated to English, says: “That slap” — a clear message of appreciation.
Wolves must take inspiration
Wolves have scored five goals from set pieces this season but none have come from a direct free kick (WhoScored).
Although the Old Gold don’t have a free-kick specialist with the quality of Fernandes, Vitor Pereira would certainly like to see more attempts to score from dead-balls when presented with the opportunity.
With Cunha suspended and set to miss Wolves’ next two matches, there could be a chance for another player to step up and register the side’s first direct free-kick of the season when they take on Southampton on the weekend.
