A new sponsorship deal could lead to Liverpool FC retaining Luis Díaz amid interest from FC Barcelona.
Negotiations for Díaz’s renewal were said to have stalled, and with his contract set to expire in 2027, Liverpool would be keen on selling him sooner rather than later to avoid losing him for free.
Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, is said to be a big fan and that made the Catalan club a potential landing spot for the Colombian international.
However, reports say that Liverpool signing a major sponsorship deal with Adidas could restart talks and ultimately lead to Díaz staying in Merseyside. He is a key athlete in their marketing campaigns, and the German sports brand is said to be keen to keep Díaz wearing a Liverpool shirt, sponsored by Adidas of course.
