Paris Saint-Germain head into tonight’s Champions League second leg against Liverpool at Anfield with a sense of belief and determination that has been amplified by both their own camp and the French media.
The front cover of L’Équipe boldly declares “Mission: Possible,” reflecting the growing confidence that PSG can overturn their 1-0 deficit from the first leg and progress to the quarter-finals.

Despite losing the first leg at the Parc des Princes, PSG dominated much of the match, registering 27 shots to Liverpool’s two.
Their inability to convert chances into goals was their undoing, but the performance itself has emboldened both players and staff. Manager Luis Enrique has embraced the underdog role, stating, “We have nothing to lose, and that makes us dangerous.”
His players have echoed this sentiment, with Vitinha and Desire Doue both expressing confidence in PSG’s ability to win at Anfield.
The French media has rallied behind PSG as well.
The Reds will be boosted by the return of Cody Gakpo from injury and are expected to field a full-strength lineup.
Meanwhile, Arne Slot does not want a repeat of the first-half showing against Southampton, writing in his match programme:
“The standards that we set ourselves are always high, which is why it is unacceptable when we fall below them,” Slot wrote.
“This happened in the first half of our game against Southampton on Saturday and we saw how difficult any game can be if we do not show the football characteristics that others expect of us, and we expect of ourselves. This cannot happen tonight.”
With that in mind, Le Parisien have released a likely PSG starting XI to take the field at Anfield, with it being unchanged from the starting XI in the reverse leg:
Donnaruma, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, Neves, Ruiz, Kvaratskhelia, Dembele, Barcola.
Meanwhile, they have also laid out their expected Liverpool line-up, believing Nunez will get the nod to lead the line having had to contend with an impact cameo role last time out:
Alisson, Robertson, Van Dijk, Konate, Alexander-Arnold, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Diaz, Nunez, Mohamed Salah.
