A new entrance to West Ham station is due to open at the end of 2026.
Developer Berkeley is building 3,800 new homes next to the station, and has also committed to fund the delivery of a new entrance.
In a recent report, Transport for London (TfL) revealed that construction of the new entrance will resume by mid-2025, which is when the first residents are set to move into the development.
On this timeline, the new station entrance, which will sit above the Jubilee line eastbound track, could open before the end of 2026.
Two new footbridges linking the development site to Manor Road, where the station’s current entrance can be found, were completed last year.
TfL has said that securing the new station entrance was vital for unlocking the new housing development, which is called TwelveTrees Park.
Although it sits right next to the Tube station, access to the site previously required a long detour around an industrial estate.
West Ham station is served by the Jubilee line, District line, Hammersmith & City line, DLR and c2c network.
Berkeley has said that its new development “boasts exceptional transport links”, with journeys to Canary Wharf taking just seven minutes.
