Insider Suggests Phoenix Suns’ Asking Price for Devin Booker Trade This Offseason

For a team like the Phoenix Suns, who are underdelivering on expectations, the offseason rumor mill is starting early. The potential of a full-scale rebuild in the desert is certainly not out of the question. That could entail parting with a player who has only known what it has been like to wear a Suns jersey for his entire career.

Devin Booker has spent a decade in Phoenix, which feels odd to say. The Suns taking a chance on the Kentucky guard in the 2015 NBA Draft is a more distant memory that it initially appears.

Booker vindicated that selection completely for Phoenix. The talented offensive weapon has blossomed into a four-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA player during his time in the NBA. Depending on personal preference, between him and Karl Anthony-Towns, one could easily make the case that Booker has been the best player from his draft class.

So, what would it take for the Suns to feel comfortable moving on to a new era for their franchise? More importantly, what could they expect to yield for a player of Booker's quality?

Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic believed he had the answered, based on the intel provided in his direction.

Rankin wrote, "Sources informed The Republic the Suns could probably get four first round picks for Booker and a rising star in his third or fourth year."

At an initial glance, that potential package sure sounds like one which could be offered by the Houston Rockets. The Texas franchise has been linked to Booker in the past and even possesses a couple of the Suns' future picks, which can be return to them.

The overwhelming sentiment from the NBA rumor mill has been the fact that Kevin Durant will likely be moving to his next team this offseason. The question from there is whether the Suns choose to retool around Booker or cut their losses entirely.
