Newcastle United have heard from recent transfer target, Nicholas Kuhn, after pursuing the £25m-rated Celtic winger in the recent winter window.
The German winger, who can also play centrally, [has been scouted by the Magpies in recent months](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-newcastle-united-scouting-mission-30809924) after a stellar season north of the border as Celtic head towards yet another league title. Kuhn has chipped in with 18 goals and 13 assists in 41 appearances this term, subsequently catching the eye of Europe's best sides.
However, speaking this week, the £3m man admits he is not thinking of a Celtic exit despite lingering speculation over a Parkhead exit in a blow to United's chances come the summer window.
“When I signed here, I said the challenge was to win everything. And so far, it has been really great to be here, I’ve really liked it," Kuhn told the Daily Mirror.
“Hopefully, there will be some more trophies to come this season. And my contract here runs until 2029, so I’m very much looking forward to what is ahead.”
The player's agent - former Rangers star Christian Nerlinger - [recently played down any talk of an exit materialising](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/20m-transfer-message-newcastle-united-31006482), admitting his client had 'found a home' at Celtic Park. "We are not, never, walking out on Celtic without being together with the club because this success story was created by Celtic," he said.
United have been exploring their options when it comes to right-sided attackers after the club kept their powder dry in the January window. Bryan Mbeumo has previously emerged as a big-money transfer target for the position currently occupied by Jacob Murphy.
Previous windows have also seen the likes of Johan Bakayoko, Tyler Dibling and Antoine Semenyo admired by the St James' Park hierarchy. As it stands, the right wing spot remains the only area of the pitch Newcastle haven't strengthened with reinforcements since the 2021 takeover.
