Chiefs sign new star to highly guaranteed deal

The Kansas City Chiefs are reeling after their stunning 40-22 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs have since gotten a commitment from star tight end Travis Kelce to come back for another season to play out the rest of his contract.

Still, the Chiefs know they’ll need even more to bolster their roster if they want to get back to the Super Bowl. As such, the franchise made a major signing, according to one prominent league insider.

“Sources:#Chargers standout CB Kristian Fulton has agreed to term with the#Chiefs, getting a 2-year, $20M deal, upside to $20.5M, with $15M fully guaranteed. Deal done by Todd France of (Athletes First),” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“The Chiefs are going to benefit by adding him to the roster. Great gift for the Chiefs,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Maybe my favorite move of the offseason so far! Hit fit with DC Steve Spagnuolo’s scheme. Kansas City quietly has one of the best CB rooms in the whole league with McDuffie and Watson as CB 1 and 2. Brett Veach strikes again!” one fan added.

“Dang, what a great fit. He won’t get the pass interference calls playing with the chiefs. This will make him look like a superstar,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see what else Kansas City has planned for the offseason.
