Manchester United’s attacking struggles this season have been clear for all to see.
The 3-4-3 system under Ruben Amorim demands a high level of technical security and physical intensity.
Yet United’s forward options have often failed to deliver.
Alejandro Garnacho, while promising, remains raw, and his best role does not seem to align with Amorim’s narrow No.10 position.
Meanwhile, Amad Diallo has impressed when given the chance, showing the kind of composure and intelligence that could make him a mainstay.
However, even with Amad’s emergence, United desperately need an elite winger to elevate their squad’s technical and physical baseline.
Manchester United ‘closely monitoring’ former Leeds United star
That is where Barcelona’s Raphinha enters the equation.
According to Caught Offside, United are one of several clubs closely monitoring the Brazilian, alongside Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle.
The 27-year-old is having the best season of his career, with 25 goals and 18 assists to his name across all competitions.
That includes a standout nine goals and four assists in nine Champions League games.
CentreDevils last year reported of Ruben Amorim’s ‘obsession’ with the Brazilian.
Arsenal have been long-time admirers of Raphinha and previously held talks with Barcelona over a move.
However the report suggests that United and Liverpool are financially better placed to make a serious offer.
Barcelona’s ongoing financial difficulties could force them to sell despite Raphinha’s spectacular form.
Therefore making him one of the most sought-after wingers on the market.

United’s co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already confirmed there will be money available for Ruben Amorim this summer.
Although he also hinted that sales could influence the final transfer budget.
The budget remains limited, so huge sales will likely be needed before bringing in fresh talent.
However, even if United can match Barcelona’s asking price, landing Raphinha would still be a major shock.
With Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle all chasing Champions League qualification, the Brazilian may see his future elsewhere.
Therefore making a move to Old Trafford unlikely unless drastic changes occur.
