£50m Premier League star names Nottingham Forest player as toughest opponent he's ever faced

Nottingham Forest are going great in the Premier League this season and a number of players have proved to be top performers.

On Saturday, Forest defeated Manchester City for the first time since returning to the Premier League in 2022, with Callum Hudson-Odoi earning praise from Michael Owen for his winning goal.

There were other top performers during the City Ground clash. Ola Aina impressed Robbie Earle, whilst Matz Sels kept an impressive 12th clean sheet of the campaign to keep him on course for the golden glove this season.

Forest are third in the Premier League table with 10 matches of the 2024/25 campaign remaining. With that in mind, a chase for the Champions League is very much considered doable at this stage and it’s a very exciting time for the football club.

Antoine Semeyo names Nottingham Forest star as his toughest opponent

The Bouremouth forward is in some serious form right now. He’s led the Cherries into Champions League contention alongside Forest and of late, the team have played some brilliant football.

Semenyo is valued at £50 million and he’s been answering some quickfire questions on his season and some of his teammates and the players that he’s faced.

He told B/R Football that Virgil van Dijk and Destiny Udogie are the two players he’s hated facing the most this season, whilst also throwing Ola Aina into the mix too having played against him twice during 2024/25.

The 25-year-old has made 31 appearances for the Cherries this season, scoring nine goals and claiming five assists as a key cog in Andoni Iraola’s brilliant team is also eyeing European football.

Forest are still working hard to try and tie Aina down to a new contract. Things look to be advancing with both the club and the player pretty relaxed about the situation.

The Reds will be hoping desperately to ensure that he doesn’t walk away from the club for free and his current form will naturally have clubs sniffing around the player.

Aina has moved over to right-back this season. The emergence of Neco Williams on the left-hand side has prompted a change by Nuno Espirito Santo, but it doesn’t really matter.

The 28-year-old has still maintained his seriously high standards and hopefully the player can remain on Trentside for a few more years just yet.
